Minutes of a SPECIAL BOARD Meeting

A special meeting of the Arizona Board of Regents was held December 19, 2006, at the Arizona State University, Memorial Union in Tempe, Arizona.  President Bulla called the meeting to order at 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2006.

Also present were President Michael Crow, Carol Campbell, Christine Wilkinson, Ron McCoy, and Jim Rund from Arizona State University; Executive Director Joel Sideman, Board Counsel Nancy Tribbensee and Secretary to the Board Peggy Martin from the Central Office; and William Sims, attorney for Arizona State University.

President Bulla commended the efforts of ASU and the neighbors to work together to find compromises in the design of this project.  As discussed in the Capital Committee meeting, Arizona State University agreed to discuss with the developer the possibility of removing the balconies from the 3^rd and 4^th floors of the southside of the building.

Upon motion by Regent Bulla, seconded by Regent Boice, the Board unanimously approved Arizona State University’s ground lease agreement with American Campus Communities (ACC) for the South Campus Residential Complex, as presented in the executive summary and modified as stated above.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
