Colangelo, Dorrances honored for service to Arizona’s public universities

Jerry Colangelo and Jacquie and Bennett Dorrance have been honored for their contributions to Arizona’s public universities as recipients of the Arizona Board of Regents Award for Outstanding Service to Higher Education. (See recipient fact sheets)

The awards were presented at a dinner last night, held in conjunction with the Board’s meeting at NAU.

Board President Kay McKay praised the award recipients for their service, thanking them for their outstanding work on behalf of higher education in Arizona.

The award, established by the Board in 1996, honors outstanding supporters of higher education in Arizona.

Previous recipients include:

• Nadine and Edward Carson and Alice "Dinky" and Richard "Dick" Snell (2000)

• The Raytheon Systems Company and Roy Drachman (1999)

• Frances B. McAllister and Donald Soldwedel (1998)

• Katherine and Robert Herberger and Phelps Dodge (1997)

• Jim Click and The Flinn Foundation (1996)
