New Contract for Dr. John D. Haeger
President of Northern Arizona University
[PDF]
At its meeting in Flagstaff on August 19 and 20, 2004, it is anticipated that the Arizona Board of Regents will authorize a new contract for Dr. John D. Haeger, President of Northern Arizona University, extending through June 30, 2007.
“A new contract for President Haeger will assure leadership continuity as the university undergoes restructuring and as the Board considers a redesign of the university system,” stated Board President Chris Herstam.
Beginning July 1, 2004, Haeger will be entering the final year of his current three-year contract.
“Dr. Haeger is doing an excellent job, and I am pleased that he is willing to continue to serve as our President of Northern Arizona University,” said President-elect Gary Stuart.
Stuart commented that a new contract would signal the Board’s support for President Haeger’s vision for NAU as a doctoral-research intensive university.
Stuart stated, “The Board supports President Haeger’s strong vision of NAU’s mission to concentrate on undergraduate education coupled with focused research and graduate education in such key areas as the environment, biosciences, education, and workforce development, and to continue to serve students online to the far ends of Arizona via a distributed learning network. Dr. Haeger knows that NAU’s future is tied to what it does best."
It is not anticipated that Haeger’s new contract will include any additional compensation beyond that provided in his current contract.
