The Annual Arizona Board of Regents Tuition Hearing will be on Thursday, March 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. The annual hearing is designed to provide students and families an opportunity to address members of the Board regarding university tuition, financial aid and other financial concerns.
The hearing will be conducted via interactive television, connecting the three main campuses with other campus sites throughout the state. The hearing also will be broadcast on cable television and on the internet. Those who wish to address the Board can attend at any of the campus locations listed below. Comments will be heard on a first come, first served basis, with participating sites rotating throughout the hearing.
The Board is expected to set final tuition and fees for 2000-2001 at its meeting April 6 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. At the same meeting, the Board also will approve mandatory fees that affect all students, increases in specific graduate programs, residence hall rates, and all class fees that require Board approval. The Board will take a roll call vote of any increases that are approved. The roll call vote is part of a new tuition setting process set by the legislature last year.
Also in keeping with the new process, each of the university presidents has disclosed recommendations for tuition increases and the Board has published notices of the tuition hearing in newspapers throughout the state. Recommendations and other information can be found on the ABOR website at: http://www.abor.asu.edu/.
