Can I include indirect or overhead costs in the amount of funding I request?

No.

Can proposals include other educational institutions and parties outside of the Arizona University System?

Yes, proposals may include other partners outside of the Arizona University System.

Must proposers or principal investigators be tenure-track faculty?

No, any Arizona University System faculty or staff is invited to submit a proposal.

Can proposals for projects not entirely online, via teleconferencing, or other long distance techniques be submitted?

Yes, proposals for various distance learning techniques are acceptable. Innovations in distance learning techniques will be highly prized.

What types of courses, programs, or projects qualify for an ARRO grant?

Any course, program, or project is eligible for submission. Proposals including distance learning innovations, components, or techniques will be favored for funding.

Can multi-university proposals be submitted by one lead university?

Yes, the lead university with the principal investigator can submit a proposal that involves collaboration with other universities. However, the Institutional Support Form (Attachment A of the RFP) must be signed by an official in the Sponsored Projects Office at each participating university. Distribution of funds will be made to the lead university; subsequent distributions to the participating universities will be the responsibility of the lead university. This is an additional option to that identified in the RFP.

Such equipment (less than $5,000) may fall under Supplies according to University practices, however, there are different restrictions on equipment under the ARRO Grant program.  Grant proposers should add a line item called "non-capitalized equipment" for equipment items less than $5,000.
