transferring credits from community colleges to the public universities
in the state of Arizona. |
A new, innovative grant program
launched in April 2005 by the Arizona Board of Regents for
faculty at Arizona’s three state universities to develop,
produce, and enhance high quality distance learning
projects. |

As the State Agency for Higher Education (SAHE)
for Arizona, the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) receives a grant from
the U.S. Department of Education under the higher education component of
the Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ), which is a competitive
grants program for improving the teaching of mathematics, science,
language arts-English and social studies, and other core subjects. |
The
U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
is directed by federal law to collect statistics relating to the
"condition of education." The data collection for
Arizona is handled by the Arizona Board of Regents. |
The
Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education
facilitates resource sharing and cost effective services
among 15 western states and their public and private colleges and
universities. |
The Math, Science and Special Education (MSSE) Teacher Loan
Forgiveness Program is designed to help pay for teacher
schooling, which can be “forgiven” by teaching math or
science in a middle school or high school, or special
education in K-12, after graduation.
