The Arizona Board of Regents approves requests for
establishing new academic units and reorganizing existing ones, according to the
provisions of ABOR policy 2-301.
Faculty members of the Arizona universities are advised to contact
the Provost’s Office at the respective university for specific procedures that are followed on the campuses.

Guidelines for requests: Requests to establish new academic organizational units or to reorganize existing ones are submitted to the Board by the provost’s office of the university making the request, using the guidelines below. Requests should be submitted to ABOR approximately
6 weeks prior to the Board meeting at which a decision is desired. Please refer to ABOR Policy
2-301 for academic units affected by the policy.
Executive Summary Templates. An executive summary is submitted to the Board office by the provost’s office
with the full proposal approximately 6 weeks before the Board meeting at which action is requested.
