Statement from ABOR Chair Larry E. Penley on Gov. Ducey allocation of CARES Act funds to Arizona's public universities

“The Arizona Board of Regents extends its most sincere gratitude to Gov. Doug Ducey for the allocation of $115 million in crucial Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds to Arizona’s public universities to support their tremendous efforts in the fight against COVID-19.

“The battle against this pandemic has called on all sectors from all corners of our state to mobilize resources and resilience as we confront these formidable challenges. The board and universities have worked hard to address these challenges, providing critical tests, resources and support to combat the global public health crisis.

“We appreciate Gov. Ducey’s continued leadership, and we are proud to serve the state of Arizona and its citizens in this great and shared challenge of our time.”
