2022 tuition proposals announced for Arizona’s public universities

Presidents of Arizona’s three public universities released their tuition and mandatory fee proposals for the 2022-23 academic year today.

Proposals include base tuition (resident, non-resident, international (as applicable), online); differential tuition (as applicable); and mandatory, college, program and class fees.

Following a committee presentation and public hearing, the board is anticipated to take possible action on the proposals on April 7. Details on next steps follows.

Next steps in the tuition setting process include:

  • Presentation of proposals - Thursday, March 24, 9 – 11:30 a.m.

The presidents will present their proposals to the Arizona Board of Regents Capital, Finance and Resources Committee meeting Thursday, March 24, 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Arizona State University. Committee materials will post here on March 17.

  • Public hearing - Monday, March 28, 3 – 5 p.m.

The board will hold a virtual public hearing for students and individuals to comment on the tuition proposals from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, March 28. Instructions on how to comment will be posted by Monday, March 14, under “public notices” on the ABOR website. Comments on tuition proposals may also be submitted electronically to tuition@azregents.edu, through regular mail, at 2700 N. Central Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85004; or by fax at (602) 229-2555.

  • Board vote on proposals - Thursday, April 7

The board is expected to vote on tuition and fee proposals during the board’s April 6-8 meeting at the University of Arizona. Information on attending the meeting in-person or virtually as well as the time of the agenda item will be included in board materials which will post here on March 29.
