Academic Affairs and Educational Attainment
Members of the Academic Affairs and Educational Attainment Committee are charged with assisting the board in achieving strategic goals fulfilling the board’s statutory roles related to academic and student affairs. Responsibilities include academic strategic plans approval, program quality oversight and making policy recommendations to the board as needed regarding intercollegiate athletics.

Arizona Board of Regents' Committee on Free Expression
The Arizona Board of Regents strongly believes that free speech is critical to the mission and function of a healthy university system. Board and university policies and practices reflect and promote constitutional protections for free speech and expression. The Arizona Board of Regents' Committee on Free Expression was established pursuant state statute to further promote freedom of expression on Arizona’s public university campuses. The committee is chaired by ABOR Executive Director John Arnold and includes 15 additional members appointed by the university presidents.
Audit
The Audit Committee provides oversight concerning policies, practices and issues relating to financial reporting, internal controls and compliance, risk assessments, and internal and external audits.

Finance, Capital and Resources
Among the responsibilities of the Finance, Capital and Resources Committee are to assist the board with oversight, monitoring, reporting and enterprise planning as well as evaluating and recommending changes to policies, practices and procedures for university budgets, finances, tuition and fees, capital planning, real estate and information technology.

Research and Health Sciences
The Research and Health Sciences Committee assists the board with oversight, monitoring, reporting and enterprise planning responsibilities, and in evaluating and recommending changes to policies, practices and procedures relating to university health affairs and sciences, technology transfer, commercialization and operations, research, research parks, impact, public service and innovation.
